Best this month

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

This Week's Topic:
What was your best book for June?

Where the #$%@ did June go? I think I must have blinked and missed it. Kid sickness and trying to do the 50kin30days we do here in Aussie through RWAus meant the month passed pretty quickly.

However i did sneak in some reading (or i might have exploded) and I had a favourite.

It was Starters by Lissa Price.

I've actually had this on my TBR since Mother's Day and have been holding off. I was writing in contemp land and didn't want to be thinking Dystopian. But as my reward for finishing my draft I was able to get stuck in.

And it was well worth the wait. I read it fast but it left me thinking - a great combo. And isn't the cover awesome?

What about you?

  1. I didn't read much this month. :( Working on a revision, starting a job... (excuses, excuses) So basically, I've just been putzing through re-reads of two of my favorites Lord of the Rings and The Three Musketeers.

This sounds really, cool though. And yes, the cover is pretty nice!

  2. That is a great cover. "Survival is just the beginning." Good tag line. Okay, I'm intrigued to find out more. Your work is done, Beck! ;)

  3. Oooh, Starters! I remember hearing a lot about this before it came out but it had kind of dropped off my radar. I'll have to add it to the list!

  5. Lissa donated a copy of Starters as part of the Pens for Paws Auction, and I wished I'd been able to read it then. Haven't gotten to it yet, though. Sigh. Too many good books!
